“Regardless of WHAT we do in our lives, our WHY—our driving purpose, cause or belief—never changes.”-Simon Sinek.
As an elementary school teacher, I firmly believe that teachers have the power to guide students to discover their potential and feel “I can.” This discovery will lead them to know they are capable and achieve what they set out to do.
By implementing an ePortfolio focused on reading comprehension, we present students with a fun way to integrate technology into their education.
My mission is to prepare capable students who are not just passive learners but active participants in their own development.
As educators, our goal is to support students in achieving their educational goals. The Cleveland ISD student community faces significant and unique challenges, including learning English as a second language throughout their academic career. These challenges can hinder their progress. To address current challenges, we must guide them to discover their potential and show them that they can accomplish their goals and achieve their desired success. “To successfully lead change, we must establish a sense of urgency, echoing the wisdom shared by John Kotter in his video on how to lead change.” Providing them with the support and tools to overcome obstacles is essential. Only then can we help them overcome challenges and achieve a future full of accomplishment and satisfaction.
My aspiration is in perfect harmony with the district’s mission to guide students toward their full potential. This shared vision, often referred to as ‘Starting with why’ by Simon Sinek, is the cornerstone of effective leadership and inspiration, our shared goal is achieved by creating an environment that empowers students and instills confidence in their ability to acquire knowledge. This, in turn, enables them to achieve their personal goals. As John Kotter’s ideas in ‘The Heart of Change’ emphasize, emotional connection is a key driver of organizational transformation, underscoring our commitment to holistic student development.
By implementing the Innovation Proposal into practice ePortfolio specifically designed to improve reading comprehension skills is a step towards this goal by offering students an interactive and enjoyable platform to integrate technology into their educational journey.
