Self-assessment has been a fundamental part of my growth throughout This course. It has allowed me to rethink and transform my approach to teaching, particularly in creating meaningful learning environments. I have gained a deeper understanding of how ePortfolios can be used not only as a tool for assessment but also as a means to foster creativity, autonomy, and critical thinking in my students. By encouraging students to take ownership of their learning and explore topics that interest them, I have seen how this approach leads to more meaningful engagement and deeper understanding.
Reflecting on my work, I see areas where I have made significant progress. My innovation plan, which focuses on integrating ePortfolios into the classroom, has been shaped by several frameworks and theories discussed in the course. Applying the principles of the New Learning Culture has helped me move away from traditional, passive teaching methods and instead promote a dynamic, student-centered environment. Similarly, by aligning learning outcomes with activities and assessments through Fink’s model and the UbD Design Template, I have created a more cohesive and intentional learning experience for my students.
One of the most valuable lessons from the course has been developing a growth mindset, both for myself and my students. The Growth Mindset Plan has encouraged me to create a classroom culture where mistakes are seen as learning opportunities and effort and perseverance are valued over immediate success. This shift has helped me foster resilience and curiosity in my students, essential qualities for lifelong learning.
Throughout the course, I actively participated in the forums, contributing to discussions and sharing my ideas with my peers. This collaborative environment enriched my learning, allowing me to give and receive feedback that deepened my understanding of the course concepts. The exchange of ideas in these discussions was invaluable and helped refine my teaching and learning approaches.
Overall, I feel confident in the progress I have made and the changes I have implemented in my teaching practice. I gave myself a 90 because I believe I have effectively applied the key concepts of the course to my work while also recognizing areas where I can continue to improve. I am committed to ongoing learning and reflection, ensuring that both I and my students continue to grow and learn.
